Not many people have an extra reception room they can dedicate to their children, and most importantly, their children’s toys. However, those with conservatories have the perfect space they can give to their kids, where they can enjoy lots of fun playtime.
Here are just a few reasons why wooden conservatories make the ideal playroom for your little ones:
Close to the kitchen
Let’s face it, most toddlers and young children can’t get enough of snacks. Either they are eating them or asking for them, so having a playroom that is close to the kitchen means you don’t have to go far if and when they get hungry.
It is also handy as parents can prepare food or cook dinner in the kitchen while still being close to their kids, as children inevitably just want to be where their mums and dads are. You can also keep a close eye on your kids when they are playing and make sure they are safe and not getting into trouble.
Easy access to garden
Conservatories lead out into the garden, which means they are ideal as playrooms during spring and summer. With the doors kept open, kids can go from playing with their dolls to jumping on their trampoline whenever they want.
We all know being outside is incredibly good for all of us, and it is a great habit to instil in children, so encourage them to play outside by having their toys as close to the garden as possible.
They can also enjoy more freedom for explorative play, being able to swap between their trainset indoors and getting their hands mucky in the mud kitchen outside whenever they wish.
Non-carpeted floors
While carpet may make a playroom feel cosier, they aren’t very practical, whereas conservatories do not typically have carpeted floors.
Remember your child will want to create masterpieces with paint, make models out of Play Doh, drop glue on the floor, and spill food and drink wherever they go. Having a non-carpeted floor means you won’t worry as much about the spillages and crumbs, so you can just relax and have fun with your little one.
If you are worried not having carpet could feel cold during the winter months if you spend a lot of time in the playroom, you can always put down a large wipeable rug.
Lots of sunshine
Having lots of windows in your conservatory means your playroom will be filled with natural sunlight all year round. This means you and your child can enjoy the benefit of sunlight without having to face the chilly weather during the coldest months.
These benefits include the release of mood-boosting hormone serotonin, more vitamin D to build strong bones, reducing the risk of certain cancers, and helping skin conditions like eczema and jaundice. Giving your little one lots of natural light in the day also helps regulate their sleep cycle, so they are more likely to have a restful slumber at night-time.
