When people look into traditional conservatories and other home extensions, each person often has a story behind why they need the extra space, and a recent survey has revealed that needing more storage space is the biggest reason.
The survey, which ranks the ten biggest reasons Brits want to add an extension to their home, found that nearly a fifth (19.65 per cent) of homeowners wanted to solve their limited storage space.
Needing more space in the garden and wanting to set up a spare guest room were also huge reasons (16.6 per cent and 16.05 per cent respective), as was having an extra space to host get-togethers with family and friends.
With many restrictions lifted and people able to meet up freely with each other, it makes sense that having a dedicated place to entertain would become a priority.
However, whilst people can go out more, having the option to work (13.95 per cent) and work out (8.7 per cent) were still top priorities, and highlight just how important the home has become over the past two years.
Interestingly, adding value to a property was only the sixth biggest reason, considering how high house prices are and the potential to make a windfall in the current circumstances.
Growing families have also highlighted how much space has become a premium, with frustrations over lacking a space to call your own (10.9 per cent), accommodating for children growing up (10.8 per cent) and having a dedicated playroom (8.7 per cent) rounded off the list of priorities.
