Conservatories are a lovely addition to any home and are the perfect space to spend long summer days relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.
Our homes can get quite warm in the summer and conservatories can get very warm due to the number of windows, but there are many ways you can help to keep your conservatory at a comfortable cool temperature so you can enjoy the sun without sweating it.
Firstly, blinds are going to be your best friend! Light-coloured blinds can make the world of difference in a conservatory as they allow you to block out a lot of sunlight and therefore heat. Even lowering your blinds halfway will make a difference and still allow you to enjoy the bright sunshine.
They are also a great option as not only do they help to keep out the heat in the summer, they can help to insulate your conservatory in the winter. This makes them an excellent year-round investment.
Another way to keep your conservatory cool is to use an air conditioner or fan. While these can be costly, it can be easy to find one at any local store or online retailer and they can make a huge difference.
You may also be able to choose a system that works as both an air conditioner and a heater which makes it useable all year long. This can help you keep your conservatory at any temperature you desire, regardless of the weather or temperature outside.
There is also the option of installing reflective film on the windows. This will work in a similar way to blinds by stopping the sunlight from entering the room and heating it up.
Reflective film can reflect up to 80 per cent of the sun’s rays and doesn’t require you to cover your windows, therefore allowing you to enjoy the views of your garden while still staying cool.
