Creating A Cosy Snug In Your Conservatory During The Cold Winter

These days, conservatories aren’t just sunrooms saved for the summer. Thanks to good heating and insulation, they are well-heated rooms that can be enjoyed all year round. In fact, they are just as good for turning into a cosy snug during winter, as they are as garden rooms during the warmer months.

So, how do you make bespoke orangeries the place to go to when you want to escape the cold outside and snuggle up at home?

This winter has been a particularly cold one, with temperatures regularly dropping below freezing across the UK. So, it’s no surprise that so many of us want to cosy up at home instead of braving the winds, snow, and ice outside.

One of the best ways to create a comfy retreat in your conservatory is fill it with textiles. Have a large rug on the floor, invest in a big corner sofa with plenty of big cushions where you can lie down, and hang a warm throw over the couch.

Ideal Home recommends using a variety of natural textiles, from rattan to wicker, as these make the room feel more relaxing.

If you want to have something for everyone to wrap up in, buy a clever footstool that doubles up as storage for extra blankets, so you can all snuggle up on a cold winter’s evening.

It is also a good idea to have mood lighting, as there is nothing cosier than dimmed lights when the sun sets. Floor, wall or table lamps can achieve this, adding atmosphere and warmth in the room.
